The Catch Fishing Report-Memorial Day 2007
Powered by: The Redden Group
Greetings Angler,
River flows have subsided over the past few days and fishing on the Gunnison River is becoming increasingly friendly. Check current flows for Crested Butte, Gunnison, and the Western Slope of Colorado.
Crested Butte and Gunnison Hatch Report:
Lakes are opening up everywhere and fish are beginning to move around. General trends during the spring are: Stoneflies begin to move around on the rocks and occasionally end up drifting down the stream bed. Little black stone flies can be seen on the snow. As water levels increase and water temperatures increase, more insects begin to get active and so do the trout. Other typical fly patterns are San Juan Worms, Egg Patterns, Stoneflies and Midges. Back stones flies and red midges are great combination rigs to use.
