The Catch Fishing Report 12-14-06
Greetings Angler,
For those of you thinking that catching fish may be impossible during the winter, we have evidence that you should not worry. Check out the December pic from Dragonfly Anglers posted on our Crested Butte Fishing Cam at FishCrestedButte.com!
Here is the latest fishing report on Gunnison Valley conditions from Dragonfly Anglers:
Gunnison River
The Gunnison River beginning at Almont and running to the Blue Mesa Reservoir is an incredible fishery, offering opportunities to both float and wade with great success. As we are coming close to the end of 2006 we are seeing mid-winter conditions. Most of the river is starting to ice from the edges in toward the middle of the river. Some sections do remain fishable although productivity is low. We are always watching to see what runs become open if we happen to experience a warm snowy winter. The lower sections of the Gunnison at its confluence with the North Fork (Pleasure Park) is experiencing a perfect winter water level at this time (1460 cfs) which is ideal for winter fishing.
